Czech Republic visa from the UAE (2026)
This is a Schengen state — the visa, fee and 90/180 rule base is shared. Read the full Schengen guide →
The Czech Republic runs its UAE applications through VFS Global in Dubai, with decisions taken by the Czech missions here. Nothing about the fee or stay rules differs from the Schengen standard — the specifics are a demand calendar skewed to Christmas markets and summer, and a consulate known for reading itinerary logic closely.

Visas
Who needs this visa
- UAE citizens are visa-waived across Schengen including the Czech Republic — this guide is for UAE residents on other passports.
- Residents holding India, Pakistan, Philippines, Egypt, Russia and most other non-waiver passports need a C-type Schengen visa with the Czech Republic as the main destination.
- Waiver-passport holders (UK, US, Canada, Gulf states and others) enter visa-free for up to 90 days.
- Submission is via VFS Global in Dubai and Abu Dhabi; the consulate of jurisdiction follows your emirate of residence.

Process
How it works
-
Check the destination logic
day 0The Czech Republic should hold the longest stay or define the trip's purpose (a Prague congress, a family visit). Multi-country trips must show the night split honestly.
-
Book the VFS slot
3–6 weeks aheadDemand spikes for December and the summer holidays; outside those windows appointments are usually reachable within a few weeks.
-
Prepare the documents
1–2 weeksCzech missions are particular about insurance providers and about privately hosted stays — a Foreign Police-verified invitation replaces hotel bookings cleanly.
-
Submit with biometrics
1 dayIn-person submission at VFS; fingerprints repeat every 59 months. Keep the checklist order — it mirrors how the counter checks.
-
Decision
10–15 daysUp to 15 calendar days standard, 45 at peak. The consulate may verify employment details with the sponsor named in the NOC.
-
Passport return and check
1–3 daysRead the sticker's validity, duration and entries against the approved plan before leaving the centre.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Do UAE residents need a visa for the Czech Republic?
UAE citizens no — Schengen waiver applies. Residents on most non-waiver passports do, filing through VFS Dubai or Abu Dhabi with the Czech Republic as their main destination.
How hard is it to get a Czech appointment in Dubai?
Outside the December and summer peaks, slots are typically available within weeks. For high-season travel, create the VFS account 2–3 months ahead and watch cancellations.
What is a Foreign Police-verified invitation?
For stays with friends or family in the Czech Republic, the host can obtain an invitation certified by the Czech Foreign Police. It is stronger evidence than a plain letter and removes the need for hotel bookings.
Can I work or study on a Czech Schengen visa?
No. The C visa covers tourism, family visits and short business activities such as meetings or negotiations. Work and study need a national long-stay visa or a residence permit, applied for separately at the embassy.
Is the Czech visa fee different because it's Schengen?
There is no 'Czech' fee — the €90 adult and €45 child (6–11) rates are harmonised for the whole Schengen area. Only the VFS service fee, set by the centre in AED, varies by operator.
