FAQ
Company setup in the UAE: questions
How is a free-zone company different from a mainland company?
A free-zone company is licensed inside a designated zone with 100% foreign ownership and simplified customs, and can trade internationally and inside the zone. A mainland (DED) company can trade anywhere in the UAE without restrictions. Both pay the same 9% corporate tax above AED 375,000 of profit.
Which jurisdiction is the cheapest?
Northern emirates (RAKEZ, UAQ FTZ, AFZ) usually have the lowest license fees, while Dubai authorities (IFZA, DET, DMCC) cost more but are closer to clients and banks. The catalog shows the exact figures for every activity.
How long does registration take?
Free-zone licenses are typically issued in 3–7 days after documents are signed; mainland registrations take 5–10 days. Residence visas add 3–5 working days each.
Can I run the setup without visiting the UAE?
Yes. Incorporation and license issuance are fully remote. A short visit is required only for residence visa stamping and Emirates ID biometrics.
