Russia visa for UAE residents (2026)

UAE citizens travel to Russia without a visa under the 2019 bilateral agreement — up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Many other UAE residents can use Russia's unified e-visa: a single-entry permit for stays of up to 16 days, applied for online and issued in about four days.

Do UAE citizens need a visa for Russia?

No. Since September 2019 a bilateral agreement has allowed UAE passport holders to stay up to 90 days in any 180-day period with just a passport. Watch the day count if you travel in and out repeatedly.

I live in Dubai on an Indian or European passport — what about me?

Check the e-visa list: most EU passports as well as India and China are eligible for Russia's unified e-visa — a single-entry stay of up to 16 days, applied for at evisa.kdmid.ru and issued in about four days. It cannot be extended and does not cover work.

Can the e-visa or the visa-free stay be extended?

Practically no. The 16-day e-visa is not extendable, and the visa-free regime should not be stretched beyond 90/180. Longer trips need a proper visa arranged before travel.

Do I need registration in Russia?

Yes, but hotels do it automatically. If you stay in a private flat, your host must register you with the migration service within 7 working days. Keep the registration slip — border and police checks may ask for it.
