Thailand visa from the UAE (2026)

Thailand grants 60-day visa-free entry to more than 90 nationalities — the list includes the UAE, Russia, most of Europe and China — with a possible 30-day extension on site. Indian and other non-exempt passports apply through the official Thai e-Visa portal instead of visiting the consulate. Since May 2025 every foreign arrival also files the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online before boarding.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Do UAE citizens need a visa for Thailand?

No. UAE passport holders get 60 days visa-free, extendable by another 30 days at a Thai immigration office. The only pre-departure step is the free TDAC.

I hold an Indian passport and live in Dubai — what do I need?

A visa. India is not on Thailand's exemption list, so you file a tourist e-Visa on the official portal with your photo, passport, bank statements and an employer letter. Residence in the UAE does not change the requirement.

How much money must I show on arrival?

The published benchmark is 10,000 THB per traveller or 20,000 THB per family. Random checks happen, mostly for long stays and one-way tickets.

Can the 60-day stay be extended?

Yes — a further 30 days is available at a local immigration office for a fee of about 1,900 THB. Apply before the entry stamp expires.

What is the TDAC?

The Thailand Digital Arrival Card is a free online registration that every foreign traveller files within three days of arrival. It replaced the paper arrival card and is not a visa.
