South Korea visa from the UAE (2026)
South Korea keeps a visa-waiver programme for dozens of nationalities, but boarding requires an electronic travel authorisation (K-ETA) filed online before departure. UAE citizens fall into this visa-free-plus-K-ETA track. Philippine, Indian and several other passports common among UAE residents need a full tourist visa from the Korea Visa Application Centre in Dubai.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Is K-ETA a visa?
No. K-ETA is an electronic travel authorisation for nationals who normally enter Korea visa-free. It does not guarantee entry — immigration makes the final call at the border.
Do Philippine passport holders in the UAE need a Korea visa?
Yes. The Philippines is not on Korea's visa-waiver list, so residents apply for a C-3 tourist visa through the Korea Visa Application Centre in Dubai. Approval depends on documents, not on UAE residence.
What about Indian passport holders?
Generally yes, a visa is required. Korea has periodically trialled K-ETA-based entry for Indian tourists, so confirm the current rule on the official portal before booking.
How long is a K-ETA valid?
A K-ETA stays valid for multiple trips over several years from approval. Re-apply if your passport details change.
How early should I apply?
File the K-ETA at least 72 hours before departure, ideally a week out. Visa applicants should allow 2-3 weeks and avoid peak holiday seasons, when queues at the Dubai centre grow.
