Serbia visa from the UAE (2026)

Serbia is not Schengen — it has its own visa policy, and for UAE residents it splits the audience in a way no Schengen country does: UAE and Russian passport holders walk in visa-free, while residents on most South Asian and African passports need a C visa arranged in advance. Applications are handled directly through the Serbian missions in the UAE, without a VFS layer.

Who needs this visa

  • UAE citizens enter Serbia visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
  • Citizens of Russia and Belarus enter visa-free for short stays — the reason Serbia keeps appearing in UAE resident travel plans.
  • Residents of India, Pakistan, Philippines, Egypt, Nigeria and most other non-waiver passports need a short-stay (C) visa obtained before travel; a UAE residence permit does not replace it.
  • Applications run through the Serbian embassy in Abu Dhabi or the consulate channel the mission designates — there is no VFS counter for Serbia in the UAE, so appointment practice follows the embassy's own instructions.

    Without a VFS calendar, submission windows follow the embassy's published instructions. Email or call for the current filing routine before booking anything non-refundable.

  3. Prepare the file

    1–2 weeks

    The set is standard consular: form, photos, bookings, funds, NOC. The invitation matters most for private trips — a notarised Serbian invitation beats a hotel-only plan.

  4. Submit in person

    Applications are filed at the mission; originals and copies travel together. Keep the receipt with the submission reference for status queries.

  5. Decision

    2–4 weeks

    There is no Schengen-style statutory clock; files commonly resolve in 2–4 weeks, longer in busy periods. No appointment-weekend maths — file early and hold flexible flights.

  6. Travel with the sticker

    Check the visa's entries and stay length against the plan. Serbia counts days on its own rules — time spent there does not touch your Schengen 90/180 balance.
