Turkey visa from the UAE (2026)
Turkey is the UAE's most frequent long-haul weekend: direct flights to Istanbul from every emirate and no Schengen bureaucracy on top. But 'Turkey visa for UAE residents' is really three different questions — UAE citizens do not need one at all, some nationalities self-serve an e-visa in minutes, and everyone else files a sticker visa through VFS Global in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

Who needs this visa
- UAE citizens enter Turkey visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period — no application, no fee.
- Holders of many European, Gulf and Latin American passports are also visa-free; a second group is eligible for the online e-visa (evisa.gov.tr) without visiting a centre.
- Residents of India, Pakistan, Egypt, Philippines, Nigeria and most other African and South Asian passports generally need a sticker visa — some may still get the e-visa when they hold a valid UAE residence permit and meet the conditions shown in the e-visa wizard.
- Sticker-visa applications are submitted via VFS Global centres in Dubai and Abu Dhabi; the Turkish missions decide. VFS also handles appointment booking, fee collection and passport return.

Do UAE citizens need a visa for Turkey?
No. UAE passport holders travel visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180. Emirates ID is not a travel document for this route — the passport is what airlines and border officers check.
Can I get the Turkey e-visa as a UAE resident?
It depends on the passport, not the residence. Run the official wizard on evisa.gov.tr: some nationalities qualify outright, others qualify with a valid UAE residence permit and onward ticket, and the rest need the sticker visa through VFS.
How long does the Turkey sticker visa take from Dubai?
Around 3–10 working days after VFS submission in normal periods. Around Eid and the summer peak, add appointment wait time — file 4–6 weeks ahead instead of 2.
Is the e-visa enough for entry, or do I need a stamp in the passport?
The e-visa is an electronic document tied to your passport; you receive it by email and show it at check-in and border control. Nothing is stamped in advance — the entry stamp with your allowed stay happens at the Turkish border.
Can I extend a Turkish e-visa or sticker visa?
Short-stay e-visas are not extendable; leaving on time and re-entering on a new document is the clean route. Sticker visas are extended only in exceptional cases through the provincial authorities — plan the return date against the issued stay, not hopes of an extension.
Is there a Turkey visa on arrival for UAE residents?
There is no reliable on-arrival lane for sticker-track nationalities; arrival without the right document ends at the return counter. UAE citizens and visa-free passports simply walk through — everyone else boards with an e-visa or sticker visa in hand.
