Mexico visa for UAE residents (2026)

UAE citizens enter Mexico without a visa. For other UAE residents the route depends on the passport: a valid US visa or permanent residence in the US, Canada, UK, Japan or Schengen countries replaces a Mexican visa. Some nationalities qualify for the free electronic authorisation SAE for air arrivals, and everyone else applies at the Mexican Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Do UAE residents need a visa for Mexico?

It depends on the passport and documents. UAE citizens enter visa-free; a valid US visa or permanent residence in the US, Canada, UK, Japan or Schengen states also removes the visa requirement, while most other passports need the embassy visa or the SAE electronic authorisation.

What is the Mexico SAE and who can use it?

The Sistema de Autorización Electrónica is a free electronic authorisation for tourists arriving by air only, open to nationalities on the official list. It is single entry, must be obtained before travel and does not work for land borders or cruises.

I have a valid US B1/B2 visa. Do I still need a Mexican visa?

No, a valid US visa lets you enter Mexico without a Mexican visa. Travel with the passport carrying the US visa and keep your return ticket and accommodation details available.

How long can tourists stay in Mexico?

The immigration officer sets the stay, which for tourists commonly runs up to 180 days. The entry record issued on arrival should be kept until departure.

Where do UAE residents apply for a Mexico visa?

At the Mexican Embassy in Abu Dhabi, which handles appointments, biometrics and the interview. There is no visa on arrival for visa-required nationals, so start the process several weeks before flying.
