Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Do UAE citizens need a visa for Australia?
No visa, but an ETA. It is applied for in the official Australian ETA app for a AUD 20 service charge, usually cleared within minutes, and allows multiple visits of up to three months each within 12-month validity.
I hold a European passport and live in Dubai — what do I need?
A free eVisitor (subclass 651), applied online before departure. It mirrors the ETA: tourism and short business visits, up to three months per entry, with no fee and no biometrics.
Who applies for the Visitor 600?
Residents on passports outside the ETA and eVisitor lists — Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Egyptian, Russian and many others. The tourist stream is filed online in ImmiAccount, and granted stays range from 3 to 12 months depending on the case.
Can I work on an ETA, eVisitor or Visitor 600?
No. These permits cover tourism, family visits and short business activities such as meetings and conferences. Any employment requires a work visa, and informal work during a visit risks cancellation and future refusals.
