Flights from the UAE to Russia

Flights from the UAE to Russia

Emirates airline, owned by the Dubai government, will continue to operate flights to Russia, the airline’s president Tim Clark said at the World Government Forum in Dubai.
“As long as we are not banned from operating in Russia, we will continue to do so,” he said. Earlier, flydubai and S7 airlines suspended flights to a number of Russian cities, as well as cities in Ukraine and Belarus, due to the closure of airspace over these regions.
According to Tim Clark, Emirates is currently transporting humanitarian supplies, NGO workers and diplomats to and from Russia. “A lot of developing countries haven’t imposed sanctions on Russia, so all we do is help.”
Tim Clark said the airline will be able to “handle” the current high oil prices, which are firmly above US$100 a barrel because of the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
The airline will continue to use larger aircraft such as the Airbus A380. “They’re going to be more unique in the future (because) consumer demand for these aircraft is astronomical,” Tim Clark said. – “We’re going to overhaul them, upgrade them and put more innovation into them.”
Flydubai previously extended the suspension of flights to Krasnodar and Rostov-on-Don for further notice as airports in those cities remain closed due to the escalating Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
The air carrier promised to contact passengers about refunds and rebooking tickets. Etihad Airways flights from Abu Dhabi to Moscow continue as usual.
Emirati airlines Emirates and Air Arabia continue to fly to major Russian cities. In particular, Emirates operates daily flights from Moscow to Dubai and St. Petersburg to Dubai.
